About the choir
Fifteen voices, one sound
The Northavon Singers is a mixed-voice, four-part community choir based in Henleaze, Bristol. We're a registered charity, and singing for our community sits right at the centre of what we do.
Our mission
We exist to bring people together through choral singing — for the singers who take part, and for the audiences we perform to. We rehearse and perform as a mixed SATB choir of around fifteen members, and we perform two to three public concerts a year alongside a calendar of community events.
A large part of our year is given to Christmas: we carry carols to local residential and nursing homes, bringing music to people who might not otherwise get to a concert hall. We also take on ad hoc engagements by request — weddings, community fêtes, and local celebrations.
Where money goes
The Northavon Singers is run on modest means. In the financial year to 31 August 2025, we raised £2,635 and spent £1,889 — mostly on music, venue costs and the practical running of concerts. Where we're able, we donate profits from our concerts to local and national charities.
We are overseen by two trustees, who give their time voluntarily to keep the choir running well and our charitable reporting up to date with the Charity Commission.
